I can't really say I regret not taking the bike, did a lot of miles, could carry all my camera stuff (and 2 rear Monster panels that I was not able to get autographed). The 200 miles down Rt 1, being my first time, I would not have have pushed the bike near as hard as I was able to push the car.

I wasn't too happy with the bike pics, but I had decided to sit in my seat, and focus on the race, so I was too far away for my 200mm lens, and they were all hand held. But during the 9:30 warmups, I got closer (but thru the fence) and did get one decent picture of ben. I think the front tire is off the track.

What a great vacation. Have ridden all of that and it brought back fond memories.

I made a last minute decision to ride down and discovered Rob Burch was doing the same on Wednesday. Put on my radar detector and we bombed to Yreka, 300 miles. Then Rob took us West for 300 miles of the best roads I've ridden. Solid twisties. At the end of that 600 mile day my knees were toast. Day two was another 400 miles of great stuff and I ended it at Alice's restaurant. The weekend was a total other story but, if you haven't and get the chance, you've gotta' hear and see those bikes. Almost surreal.
