My rashed up bike has new skins, but they are primer gray. Any suggestions for a painter? I thought of Kurt, but he'd put decals all over it.

I used Aaron Walker in Portland for my RSV4. Unreal quality, super reliable and on time with the finished product. Great design ability as well.

PM me for his phone number if interested.

Brandon Knowles, BrandX Customs in Lynwood. Beautiful work, fair price, great design flair. He has done all my race fairings including the tri colour 749.

wow, and I thought you were my friend! :action027

better not let me around your bike when you are not near it, that puppy will have a few decals faster than you can say Ducati Rules!

I used Brandon Knowles to do the paint on my 1098 when I put the Carbon on. You saw his work first hand before and after you rashed up the BMW at ORP. But he is in Lynwood, so that might be a little further north than you want to go.

Russ seems to get rave reviews from folks on here. I've never used him but I know Rich Q had Russ do the paint on his Street Fighter.

I have some experience with both, not lots, but I'll go back to Russ every time.

When I go track only with the 1098, I am leaning toward having Russ paint the track skins because I have always heard good things about him and now that I live in Federal Way he is a little closer and easier to get to than Brandon.

Ducati is always fixing the rules, Kurt. BTW, your bike rules, too, but aesthetically, I think the Monsta was sublime.

Russ? Who he be? I can go north, south, or be Mr in-between. I won't try to reach Kurt's standards, but rattle-can is out (it may get rashed the next time out; heaven forfend). How do I talk to Russ?

BTW, Atlas, if take the bike to Portland, it will be for high end work; do you think I should spend the gas?

Russ Foy of Custom Classics. Talk to Rich, Kurt or either of the Daves, I'm sure they can give you contact info. Like I mentioned I have heard great things about Russ and his work. As I understand it he tends to be a pretty busy guy so there might be a bit of a wait, but it should be weel woth it in the end.

Brandon Knowles of Brand X Customs matched my side panels very well when he painted my bike. It took a little time to find the color and match it. If memory serves me I was about 3 weeks to a month waiting for my stuff to be done. Part of that was to do with getting the masks made to allow for the naked carbon on the mid fairings and the head light fairing istead of putting the silver Ducati and 1098S back on.

I think I got the recommendation from Brandon here. I remember talking to him a bit when he picked up my fairing and he has a few people here that he races with and paints the track plastics for. Never seen any bad reviews.

Good luck and let us know how things turn out.

I haven't used either one myself. I just went with the yellow, McDonalds paint scheme that came with my used Sharskinz on the 999 :whistling: -

But, I've seen work Russ did on rashed through, factory, 1098 fairings, and it was amazing. You couldn't tell where he'd done the work. They looked like factory new!

He's usually backlogged, and isn't cheap (good people never are), but I'd certainly recommend him.

Gwad! I want a 999! They are so sexy! But, Mickey D's? That red nose!

So, it may be Russ: convenient and good.

:lmao:

I was going paint them red in the off season (and least rattle can) and possibly throw some decals on, but by the next track season I didn't have her anymore.

She was very attractive in Italian, factory clothing though (hard to believe that design is now almost 9 years old) -

Oh damn it, you are going to think I copied you! I was imagining red, white, and black! And, you've captured the look, and now I don't know if I can make it my own.

To all of you, thanks for the choices. I owe you pictures.

I know which one I'd pick. The only weak point in the design is the tail.

Aaarrrrrrrghhh! I may have to settle for spraying clear coat over the primer. Seems like there are to many beauties out there to compete with. Can I just play the role of the awkward and plain gf?

Oh, btw, if I were to do the manufacture's flag colors, that flag flies a few hundred klicks north.

or Burgundy, Charcoal and White. Kinda has a Bavarian feel to it. Another Brandon paint job on a previously undiscovered Sedici prototype. Ironically, this scooter was discovered behind the Poodle Dog in Fife.
