I would like to loosen it a bit as I think it's not super easy to throw the bike into the corners. Does anyone know how to adjust this dumper?
Thx

Got replies from speedzilla indicating that no adjustements are available within this unit. If anyone knows otherwise please let me know.
I might be in the market for a new accessory; need to dig a bike mag issue with a huge write up on the dampers; if not the huge pile of mags Gman and I would not be able to stay longer than few hours in our office :happy44:.
Any recommendations for the steering dampers? Looks like I can get a BFN Ohlins one for $399.

Does anyone know how to adjust this dumper?
ThxIf you twist the dumper all-the-way to the left it will 'dump' you a lot faster, if you twist it all-the-way to the right, chances are good that you won't go down at all :happy57: !
Yes, the smart-ass in me :evilgrin3 is coming-out this morning!
There is no adjustment for the OE damper. You will have to buy and adjustable one. Really you feel it is too stiff? I feel the other way...too loose. :)

Next time I am on the track I will detach it and see how it is without it and see if it really makes it harder to turn. Thx.

I was actually told by one of the better (not to mention cuter) control riders if there was a way I could have adjusted mine to be harder. Apparently she was observing something that could have been improved by tightening the damper (Go ahead Greg, that's a freebie, have at it. Almost too easy!). I asked Kevin DS, and he told me the stock ones are not adjustable.
Martino, I would recommend NOT removing your damper…especially on the track. It helps eliminates head shake and devastating tankslapper. On the track I prefer a stiff damper on my R6 and have turned it up pretty high on the Scotts Damper. For the street it is less important but to be honest I find the OE 749S damper to be pretty loose. Almost to the point of being too little. If you are not use to riding with one I understand the awkwardness of it but you will get accustom to it.

IMHO I have to agree with DJS... I'll go on a limb and ask a dumb question! Have you had the suspension adjusted to your body weight (plus 20 pounds of gear weight) and controls adjusted to your body dimensions? I know it made a bit of difference in handling in my case...

In this case I have reconsidered removing it. Thx.

Kamran, not a dumb question at all.
Controls had been set prior to getting the hard steering feeling but the suspension has not. I am planning on performing the full Section8 recommended settings (http://www.section8superbike.com/749-999suspension.php) shortly.
Thanks all.
