:happy44:

This was my first bike. It came with a 3.5 HP B&S lawn mower engine. Obviously, I put a Honda engine in it - Whooohooo! Gas tank is behind the seat.

'97 Suzook GS500E. Rode that bike to Rainier then across the state to Grand Coulee Dam. Wish I still had it. By the way. That same GS stuck in the family. Several Ducati Seattle friends and family owned that bike. It even became a "track" bike. When I rode it home from Lynwood Motosports I was so excited I couldn't eat all day. Still goes down as one of the best days of my life!!! Thanks Phil. -Swervus

Brand new '65 (I think) Honda Super 90. Lots of chrome. Tank looked like a toaster. Bought from Burien Honda on 152nd street. Didn't even need to wear a helmet back then so probably saved about $9 on the deal.

Brand new 01 Virago 250. :) It's a hoot. At my size, people thought it was a full-size v-twin (looks proportional, you know) and gave me thumbs up everywhere. I miss that toy.

Yamaha J-50 mini enduro. It was 1975 and a hand-me-down from my older brother. No matter how hard we beat on that bike it wouldn't die :evilgrin3

First bike I ever rode was a gsxr600  ... then I decided I wanted a bike but had no money so I found a good deal on this Aprilia RS50 so it became my first bike that I ever owned! :happy44: I miss it like crazy since it was super light and a 2t! Thinking about it right now makes me want to get another one :p

Ok guys, I think I have you all beat!!! :D
My very first bike was a Honda twin that I turned into a chopper, when I was 15 or 16 (notice no license plate?...I was an illegal rider!)... and I cannot remember how many girls I picked up with it!!! ;)
Now I think the black & white kind of gives away my age...? :scared10:

My first bike was a 1949 Indian Arrow. I traded a boat and motor for it.
Ciao!

Rode that thing into the ground !! Over 3 years of abuse, last 2 years or so with a hole in the crankcase and no oil in it :D actually ran good

I believe I had the 1981 model.

Then, after that I moved through various other unmotorized wheeled vehicles and eventually got a 1996 Monster as my first motorbike. Nothing could do bad ass skids like the green machine.

AMF HD/Aermacchi Shortster.....man, I wish I still had that thing.

Lindsay, sweet bike man, my buddy had a Combat Wombat. Luckily, there was a guy in town that had stockpiled a huge inventory of parts ;-)

Too cool kamran!
Man, a couple names I hadn't heard in a long time: Cushman Eagle and Carabella! Yeah baby!
The first I actually owned was a '73 Yamaha DT250 Enduro. I also raced a pretty tricked out Maico 400 square barrel around the same time. Fun!

1999 F650 Classic. About 500lbs top-heavy pounds wet, and I had to tilt it to get a foot down. I later found out that the steering head bearings were shot. I'm amazed I never dropped the thing. My second bike was an '00 GS500E, and it should have been my first.

I started on the same bike as Lindsay ! The ole Super Rat, what a crazy bike.. even back then. I could not touch the ground so I had to make sure I was at our camp or next to a tree :)

Lindsay - Do you still have yours ?

Lindsay - Do you still have yours ?that's cool gman! the super rat went to my cousin pretty quickly and i got a 76(?) kawasaki KD100, which then turned into a YZ100 pretty quickly after that, with the old school monoshock.

1949 HD 45 inch converted from trike (meter maid bike) to 2 wheeler.
3 speeds forward, 1 reverse...eat your hear out on your 'wave-of-the-futrure' Honda 'Wing-a-baygo'.
But my first real 'rider' was a brand new Honda 1964 CS-90. As we called them "a chicken-sh*t 90...it runs away from every 90 in town".
If you love them early....you love them forever (motorcycles, not Honda's!!!)

Thanks... The days of "peace, love & friendship"... absolutely the best period of my life, or I think in the history of mankind... period! :D If you weren't a teenager then, then you guys don't know what you really missed out on!

It'd be a lot of fun if every one posted an old picture or two...it's fun to go back in time!!!

Here's another bike I had, but unfortunately I never took a picture of it when I had it. It's a 81 Honda CB 750 F. I bought the very first one that came to NW! (I believe Dave used race a silver one like that.)

I did indeed race an 80 version....great bike ! I was working at Seattle Honda at the time, sold my 1975 CB750K that I had put a ton of "cafe" custom work in and rode home that night on the twin cam, never regreted it ! Where did you buy it back then ??? I believe I was at Renton Honda by then..

I guess I bought in 80 then (wasn't quiet sure the year, but it was the first one!... or so I was told?). I bought it at Bellevue Honda (when it was on Bel-Red road). I put 35,000+ miles on it and sold it for $800! :scared10: It still looked clean and in great shape! The only thing I did to it was putting low racing bars on it.

Good grief, I had forgot about those things (understandably). A Hodaka, wasn't it?

OK fine, call me the n00b.
2003 Ducati SS800F
But I learned to ride (sort of) in 1991 on a Kawi Ninja 1000 and subsequently on a 1996 Katana in 2002

This is tooooo cool! Reading about you guys bikes is so neat. I went from the Cushman to a Mustang to a Honda 160 and started racing half mile dirt ovals on a Triumph 650 TT special. My novice year was the same year as Kenny Roberts! My rode motor was a 750 Triumph Trident 3 cyl.

Many scoots since then but the nostalgia is great :happy57:

Yeppers.

After the Hodaka episode, he decided to get a Can-am....he finally learned his lesson, but not before he blew up a Maico....

funny, he's been a die hard Honda guy since :D
