Don't know why, but there were a lot of bad crashes today at NESBA. Got this shot as he landed on the collarbone...surprisingly, the MotoGP leathers survived the crash, they were just rashed. His shoulder on the other hand was injured, not confirmed if he broke his collarbone though.

There were 20 shots in this series

Indeed, while the weather was perfect, there were too many crashes.
2nd time out in the am for the Intermediates, Ian's friend Pat went down right in front of me in 2. Said he started to lose the front end, stood it up, then tried to turn, but ran out of room. (I think this is the one that Bone's got)

about 2 laps later, as I came into turn 4, I saw a big dust cloud go up in 5, and drove by this one:

Both these guys were pretty much ok, but the next A group had a bad one, they brought 2 ambulances, and we only got 2 runs in the morning. Then in the afternoon, in addition to more I crashes, another A person supposedly hit a wall. Again, ambulances, and I left about 4, only getting 2 runs in the afternoon. The guys who waited might have got one more run?
I was more nervous thinking about my first day in "I" over the last week then I was the first "B" day, but despite the crashes around me, I had lots of open track and even snuck into the 40's (just barely).
Lots of ducks today, on my left:

and on my right

supposedly nothin....Grahamm almost got airlifted out after hitting the wall after the kink. Massive contusion (his lower left ribcage was swollen about a good 6 inches in diameter and about 2 inches high), messed up ankle, messed up shoulder too. It was very scary/touch and go for about 10 minutes there while 911 was showing up.
When you next hit a track day, watch for the serpentine darkies going from the kink all the way to the wall (easily 50-60 yards) and then the black patch on the wall....that was Grahamm at 100+ mph. Fortunately he is an MS employee so his insurance is good.

what happened exactly? i got there after it happened. i heard he was puttin on some new rubber, but that doesn't entirely explain a catastrophic loss like that

Ian,
Short story is broken shoulder blade and cracked ribs. Won't be back on a bike for a while but I will be back.......:) :)
ER doc said the scapula is an extreemly difficult bone to break, takes major impact to do it. After seeing Bones picture I am amazed that I didn't have more things broken.
Bones,
Great pics as always, I would like to get that series if I could. Just let me know how to order them.
Thanks all for the help today..

The one in the photo is a 749 owned by Pat with sharkskinz on it - not a PU version.
Pat, what the heck were you doing? Why are you wearing those leathers? Did you get some new ones after the Dainese?
Settle down, tough guy.

I don't think Pat's was a PU bike.
good luck Pat, considering this damage report, you are one tough guy. As you were sitting on the back of the pickup, you were doing a good job of dealing with what must have been quite a bit of pain.
