No word yet on the 1098R price point but my best crystal ball tells me that it will better part of $35,000.00 and we most likely will not see any until March April of 2008. Currently we have only one deposit on them which is typically $1000.00. We have a few deposits on the 8*8R's already for sure from local racers..

I didn't know there was going to be an R version of the 8x8, what do your crystal balls tell you about the list price of that?
thanks

As long as we're looking into Dave R's crystal ball, what does it have to say about a potential release date for the 8X8? And, what would a base or S model run a potential buyer? :puzzled:

R or S not sure if there will even be a letter designation...just what 3 of the Anatra Corsa racers requested Ducati supply them with... don't mean to mis lead on that one.. An S spec 8*8 would be just fine with me :p

Going by Ducati's method of operation last few years I would guess they will hold back the big surprises like an 8*8 or a new ST series or a ??? :cool2: for the Milan show in Nov. At the US dealers meeting in Sept we may see new editions of the most popular models along with the ones that are available to sell hopefully.. Monster inventory is thin ! Most likely we will see a model to keep us pumped that we won't be able to talk about until the Milan show  that may leak out thru MCN insiders just days before the show :puzzled:

Bong: plenty of time for you to save up. Tell your kids to work their way through college like their dad did.

Thanks Dave R.

Yes Bong, you should run that idea by your wife first, and then tell her what you plan to do with the savings second.

:popcorn2:

I thought your plan was to buy a lightly used Desmosedici 2nd hand? :cool2:

(and then let me drool near it :happy57: )

what classes are folks thinking of racing the 8*8r in?

seems like it will fall in between some classes, but I haven't looked closely
