Desmonorthwest does not host images. An outside image host should be used if you would like to insert an image into one of your posts. There are several free outside image hosts available. Below are a few of the popular ones:

www.photobucket.com
www.flickr.com
www.tinypic.com

Here are the steps:

1. Choose an outside image host service and open an account according to their instructions. This is free.

2. Upload your images according to their instructions.

3. Following successful upload of you image, find the address url of the image (i.e. "http://...). This can be done by right clicking on the image and selecting "properties". The image url will be one of the listed properties.

Note: This can usually be done for any image on the web that you want to insert into a post, not just one of your images. Just right click on the web image and go to properties...if a url address appears then you are good to go.

4. Copy the image url address. To do this just highlight the complete url address (hold down the left click and drag cursor over the address), then right click on the highlighted address and select "copy".

5. Paste the image into your desmonorthwest post using the image icon...it is the yellow square with the gray "mountains" on it). Clicking this icon will bring up a text box...paste your image url into that box (right clock in text box and select "paste").

Alternatively, you can just paste your image url directly into your post, and place before it, and after it. The http://www.desmonorthwest.com/forums/images/editor/insertimage.gif icon just automates this.

Finally, some of the image hosting sites will give you completed hosting links below your image which already have the [img] tags on the front and back. If this is the case, you can just copy the link they give you and paste it directly into your post...this does steps 3-5 the easy way. :) Photobucket is set up this way.
