Hey guys! I posted a new photo to the gallery that I'd like your opinion on. I took several photos of my bike last night in my studio and photoshopped up a background. It's in my gallery (http://www.desmonorthwest.com/photopost/showgallery.php/ppuser/720/cat/500/password/) .

Nice work man!! I really like that! What font(s) did you use for the lettering? I've been trying to figure out which one they are using.. but I don't know enough about fonts to even guess with any hope of getting close....

I'd like to do something like that fade for the desktop image I use on my computer:

The lettering is actually a photograph of the lettering on my 749D! :D I don't know what font they're using either. I wish I did.

The lighting on the lettering is 'real' too. I took a monolight with a snoot on it and set it up to light the lettering from a really obtuse angle, creating a 'gradient' and lot of fall-off on the D in Ducati. I also took a shot of the tire which is faded in behind the lettering.

Showoff.....

:)

Here is one attempt but obviously the font is not 'right'. Regardless it makes for a nice mounted 8x10 in my office.. :)

. . .and the spelling is wrong. Isn't it Corse?

Nice job lads! Now why don't you guys be more productive and come up with a logo? :D

DOH!!! You're right. Crap.. crap crap crap!!! Ah well. Geez.. you're the first to notice (or at least) mention it. Duh.. hey.. that's why I write code, not books... :) Upside is that I of course have the multi-layer full-sized image so I can fix my fuggup.....

:(

So anyone else have some favorite desktop stuff? I used this one for a long time as well from the 2003 WSBK race at Laguna Seca. I think most of the photo's excitement (for me) is the circumstances surrounding it.. Go Chillidog Go!

Maybe when my new camera gear get's here I'll shoot some more images. Speaking of which.. anyone a Canon 35mm junkie? If so check this out -> Make me an offer.... Canon A-1 Camera + lenses (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3819923142&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1)

Sorry Holeshot, I'm a Nikon/Hasselblad user. If I had an investment in Canon gear, I would be interested in some of your glass.

HEY! Speaking of emoticons.. I have a pretty good collection of them (dang.. the main page that orgianizes them is hosed.. ugh.. maybe I'll fix that today.. and remove the access restriction for a while) if ya want some Torben.. :)

I still need to do one for the Ducati... I did one for my CBR a while back.

 I'm assuming that site doesn't allow direct remote linking.
If you wanna, go ahead and zip them up, email to me and I'll post some of them so we can have more fun! :D
Thanks lad!

OK, that as perplexing! When I posted it the link-blocking was a non-issue (which I thought odd since I had not turned it off yet). Then.. I see that it was working.

Well, I turned it off, for SURE this time. :)

Aww, shucks. I wasn't trying to gloat. I saved up for a long time and finally bought the Hasselblad off of Ebay. It was worth it. :D

Oh, I bet it was!!!! I'm working with entry-level Digital stuff now. *but* I have to say so far I'm impressed with the system... it allowed me to snag this shot yesterday afternoon... (totaly UN-related to bikes):
