Michael Czysz and his 990 Moto GP contender. Not very often one gets a chance to view a beautiful, one off piece of machinery in action first hand.

It was quite the show really. Four helpers, perfect toolboxes, multiple laptops, wife, kids and trays of cookies. It definately was one loud machine when fired up. He managed a couple of laps on the track before it sprang an oil leak that sprayed on the headers causing a large cloud of smoke. He was very gracious and allowed all the pics one cared to take and answered all questions I had for him. Nice man, cool bike, neat opportunity.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing! I remember watching something on the Discovery HD channel about the trials of building that bike from the ground up and everything that was involved. Pretty amazing process for sure!

Did you ask to borrow it for a couple of laps?

I've heard whispers that MotoGP may go back to the 990cc format. It would be great if Mr. Czysz didn't have to alter his engine size.

Great looking bike! I hope he can fulfill his dream of running that thing in MotoGP!

What a cool opportunity. When this one had to go in, did he take his D16RR out?

No he had the D16RR out in the end of June when I was doing a Nesba day in Portland. He went by me in turn 2 like I had it in reverse, I managed to stay with him until the exit of 4 and that was the last I saw of him until the pits.

That bike is sick. The Desmo club that I also belong to down here in Vancouver got to take about a 3 hour private guided tour of his shop & got a nice 45 minute or so sit down question & answer forum with him. There are some serious innovations on that bike. They also showed a few videos of the bike & trials. Awesome day for sure & a cool dude to boot
