We went out to wait for someone to show up at the Truck Stop just off 18 on I-5 with an all Dark line-up. Jeff (749 Dark), T (his Breil replica 749 Dark), me (the baby Monster Dark). No one did!

Here's T's latest "mod" to his bike in attempt to stop burning his legs. Pretty slick! :)

After allowing 20-minute for the fashionables to show up, we decided to head out instead. We went down I-5 onto 512 then straight to St. Helen's on 7. Of course, coffee drinkers with only 4-hour of sleep need to take potty break, so here's the first "stop". The rain was receding but somehow we were chasing it.

We stopped at Morton to get gas and started heading off toward Morrisrock and some uncharted road that somehow Microsoft thinks was paved. There Mr. Leo took a little spill on gravel road trying to make a U-turn on an incline, how stupid. Result: Gravel 1, Leo 0. Damage was minimal, thank goodness. Pinky is swollen, but that's about it. Big thanks to Jeff and T for helping me straighten her back up.

After that episode we went back to Morrisrock and got some pizza from a local outfit. It was surprisingly nice, and that's enough meat for me for a whole month.

It was already 2:30 and we decided to abandon the original plan and instead head to the lookout for the Morrisrock Dam. Here are a few pics.

Afterwards, we headed back to Torben's place and got our ladies cleaned up (thanks man!). It's unbelievable how dirty they get after a wet day in the rain. T headed to another interesting evening, Jeff went home and I am icing my pinky now.

It was a great day out, about 200 something miles of saddle time. More people should have come, but I guess there are many more Sundays to come. Hope every one had a good day! :D

Great fun guys! I'm not going to top Leo's report, I'll just add that I took some photos too! :) I stuffed them into a gallery (http://www.jefflaplante.com/gallery/DucTrip20040613) on my site since I'm lazy and I couldn't get the photo module here to let me upload. Torben! Help!

Thanks for the ride guys! It was a lot of fun!

Torben...did the pipe wrap work?

Well I did see engine temps into the low 210s while dogging it along Hwy 7 and no burns today, so I'm guessing between the pipe wrap and the engine ice I put in, I should be ok.
I'm still concerned that the catalytics are goofed up. Darkduc and I were riding the exact same pace, same gearing along that stretch and he was in the high 170s when I was seeing mid 190s.

Anyway, thanks you guys for the great ride yesterday - it was fun :D. Leo is now a graduate, and all things considered it was a pretty easy graduation. Sorry about your tank and bars to man :( Bummer no one else showed up

If anyone heads down that way, Mossyrock pizza is very very good. It's on State Street, just south of the Shell station off highway 12. Good eating I must say.

I graduated long time ago at the MSF class (dropped their bike on the training ground) you silly boy! Graduated again on my first bike twice (hitting a flying garbage can, long story), would that be a Master degree in dropping bikes? Oh, so this is the third time... The damage is minimal, it's not a big deal; the tank can be easily pulled it's so shallow, bar is cheap. It's just eating into my food and housing and education fund. That part sucks. But my pinky is ok already dude, I do heal fast.

Note to myself: find a sugamama. ;)

Nice people, too. Oh yeah, and those cheerleaders.

PS Torben, there is a LIMIT to the number of "Smiles" use?! I just got an error telling me that I have used too much IMG or Smiles. ????

Ok, my webhost finally got all the kinks worked after my plan 'upgrade' so my photos of this tirp are actually there to view now. Sheesh. Check 'em out by clicking on the Duc Pano in my previous post or just go here (http://www.jefflaplante.com/gallery/DucTrip20040613). :D

Other than the rain the ride looked fun. Wait a minute T said it got down to 46ish degrees. Too cold for me :P. See all of you on the Big Fathers Day Ride!
