Hey track junkies,
I've done a few track days at PR with NESBA and was bumped into I last year. I'm running pretty consistant 1:44s, but I've never ridden on any other tracks. Now I'm planning on doing a couple of 2 fast days in May at ORP and I'm not sure what class I should be signing up for. I'm thinking Intermediate; anybody have any thoughts on it?

Also, I was lookng at their school that they offer and was wondering if anybody has done it and has some feedback.

Thanks, John.

My opinion - the safest groups are either Beginner or Advanced. The delta in speeds is usually the greatest in the Intermediate group and generally have the most incidents at a typical trackday event.

Whatever group you decide on just be aware and hold consistent lines. Can you join us on the 25th at ORP?

I know as a slow rider and track noob-- at Thunderhill my main focus was holding my line, staying smooth and predictable.
Some guys/girls/kid went by me pretty fast!

But I'm hoping none of them was scared to pass me, like I was that guy on the green Kawasaki. I had no idea what the heck he was going to do next.

(I guess not much in the way of advise, just an observation)

Yeah, I've heard that due to large differences in speeds and skill levels Intermediate is the toughest group to ride in. I do really like the bit of extra freedom you get over beginner though, especially in the morning when in beginner there is bad traffic jams in pretty much every corner.

I think I'll register for I and just really focus on lines and markers instead of speed.

I'd love to join you guys on the 25th, but I live on Vancouver Island so it's not worth it in travel time and costs to go down for just 1 day. It pretty much has to be a double header to be worthwhile. Maybe I'll see some of you on the 16th and 17th.
