Desmonorthwest BBQ July 26th 2009!!!

Well, the sun is showing itself on occasion , and the temperatures are rising , so that means one thing...(well, maybe two)...First, it's riding season and second, it's time for our annual DesmoNorthwest Picnic!!!

Time: 11am (until whenever everyone leaves)

Place: Rotunda Shelter at Lake Sammamish State Park (same place as last year)

Date: Sunday, July 26 (not a Sea Fair weekend by popular demand )

We're going to do it a little different than last year , so here are the details:


FOOD
Food and drinks will be provided. Main food items will be prepared by Jeremy,Carr, and Greg...consisting of Jamaican Jerk Chicken , Pulled Pork Sandwiches , and tasty Salmon filets.

EVENTS
We'd like everyone to stay a bit longer this year, so there will be a knock-em dead and drag-em out HORSESHOE CONTEST. So bring your skilz and let's see what ya got!! Prizes will be given.

This will be a team tournament, with each team consisting of two players. Teams will be decided by drawing a number (or something like that) upon check-in to the picnic. ANYONE may enter, so long as they are capable of hucking a horseshoe somewhat close to the required distance. Got a 5 year old kid with a wicked arm? He/She's in!!

ADMISSION

DNW paid DOC members = free for themselves and 1 guest. $5 for each additional guest

DNW non-DOC members = $5/person for them and any guests

(see, something besides dealer discounts for your club membership)

Tickets will not be mailed out this year...we'll just check you in when you show up.

So don't be a , come out and enjoy some nice weather (hopefully) and some good company. All are invited...wives, girlfriends, kids, dogs, goldfish, goats...you name it!

Oh yeah...Please vote in the poll so we know how much food and drink to purchase.

Just an additional reminder: do not expect Picnic tickets to be mailed out this year like in years past. Instead I'll just have a printout of everyone who has paid for the year and I'll check you off as you arrive.

Please try to be accurate with your poll response as it is how we will determine how much food to bring.

Sweet!!!! The BBQ is always a great event, loads of fun, and the food is great. So long as Tom B doesn't cook this year. He burnned my hamburger last time.

Hopefully this year we can make this more of a family event with good food and plenty of games. With that in mind, Jake and Diego will be attending. Hell, they can hardly wait. Diego has been practicing horseshoes. To date he is not very good @ the throwing part but he sure can fetch them (getting him to drop them still needs a little practice). Kurt, put your name in the hat for the horseshoe GP and perhaps you will draw Diego as a partner (there will be no fixing of the draws so act surprised when his name comes up with yours).
