1996 900SS SP with Free Maintenance

Only 9,345 miles on this nice 900SS. I have over 16 years experience working on Ducati Supersports. I have had 6 different 900SS Ducatis in the last 5 years. I get a great deal of enjoyment out of restoring them to a condition of past glory. I don't cut corners when rebuilding a bike. I have another 96 900SS SP with over 30,000 miles on the odometer that runs as good as when new. Non stock items on this bike include a vented carbon fiber clutch cover, carbon fiber tank cover, high performance front brake and clutch lines, D&D high swept exhaust pipes, Dynojet Stage II Jet kit, K&N air filter, Superlight Solo tail section and smoked windscreen. I am offering to the purchaser of this bike free labor for factory prescribed periodic service for the next 2 years or 10,000 miles. (Whichever comes first) Items of note replaced: New tires, chain and rear sprocket, chain buffer, all valve keepers, cam belts, misc. hardware, air filter. Service procedures since last run: Tear down to engine and check compression, valve guide clearance and valve guide seals. Adjust valves, replace all valve keepers. Change oil 15/50 Redline synthetic. R/R carbs and rejet as needed. Load test battery and check starter motor. R/R forks disassemble, inspect DU bushings, replace seals and refill with Spectro 125/150. Re shim swingarm to proper specs. Install 900SS FE seat support hardware for added durability of Superlight type solo tail section. You may find an SS for a few bucks less but if you consider 2 years of free maintenance the price is very reasonable. Assembly images at:

I think I ran into you on the Seattle to Bainbridge ferry once. We had a conversation that planted the Ducati seed and brought me to appreciate the 900SS's.
